The Queen Kapi‘olani Hotel, Waikiki Beach is set to reopen this summer following a $35 million renovation. Led by Honolulu-based architecture and design firms G70 and Philpotts Interiors, the redesign embraces the 1960s aesthetic of Waikiki’s golden age across 19 stories.
Designed as an extension of the surrounding upscale neighborhoods of Waikiki’s Gold Coast, the open-air lobby will greet visitors as an outdoor living room that houses the new restaurant Deck, a bar and lounge, and pool. Several retail outlets and a café concept will open in the lobby, and handpicked furniture throughout will harmonize with the retro atmosphere. An 8,000-square-foot lanai on the third floor frames expansive natural views. Three spaces will comprise the hotel’s 5,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor event options as well.
All 315 updated guestrooms will exude comfort with a refreshing, coastal color palette complemented by large windows and individual lanais.
