Multi-disciplinary design firm G70 has hired Rachel Fukumoto as the firm’s new chief financial officer, it was announced Tuesday.
“In her new role, Fukumoto will oversee the company’s financial health and strategy, including managing all aspects of financial and cash flow planning, as well as financial reporting, risk management, data analysis and decision making,” an April 30 announcement noted.
“We are thrilled to welcome Rachel on board as our new CFO, and work with her to strengthen our leadership team and overall capabilities,” Charles Kaneshiro, president and chief operating officer at G70, said in a statement. “Her extensive background in financial strategy and operations will be invaluable as G70 continues to grow.”
According to the announcement, Fukumoto brings more than 20 years of financial management experience from the nonprofit, education, legal, hospitality and corporate sectors.
“In her most recent role as the director of finance for the Hawaiian Humane Society, Fukumoto oversaw financial, accounting, insurance, statistics, reporting and IT operations at Honolulu’s largest animal shelter,” the announcement stated.
Fukumoto also previously served as vice president of business operations at Saint Louis School and has held leadership and financial positions at Central Union Church; Hanahauoli School; Kobayashi, Sugita & Goda; Prince Resorts Hawaii, Inc.; TransPacific Hawaii College and John O’Farrell & Associates, according to the announcement.
According to the announcement, Fukumoto, a certified public accountant in Hawaii, earned an MBA from Chaminade University and a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Fukumoto also holds active memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Institute of Management Accountants, the announcement noted.
