The Hilton Hokulani Waikiki, completed on Oct. 31, 2013, provides the amenities of a luxury resort to a well-heeled timeshare clientele. With its 6,500-square-foot rooftop bar and lounge, water displays and 143 upscale suites, the resort has achieved LEED Certification in the category of New Construction.
The Hokulani occupies the site of Outrigger’s former Ohana Islander Waikiki Hotel at 2181 Kalakaua Ave., and is adjacent to Lewers Street and the hustle and bustle of the newly renovated Waikiki Beach Walk. The project presented a unique set of challenges to general contractor Hensel Phelps, which was awarded Hokulani’s $34,055,000 contract on Sept. 1, 2012.
