On November 12, 2021, FIABCI-USA held the awards ceremony and gala for the 2021 Grand Prix of Real Estate in San Diego, combined with an evening dinner cruise around San Diego Harbor on the Emerald Hornblower Yacht. After pivoting to a virtual awards ceremony in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year marked the return to an in-person event. Most of this year’s winners and a multitude of FIABCI members were in attendance, easily reaching the seating capacity for dinner on the yacht. We were especially honored by the attendance of numerous international members and guests, including FIABCI World President Jordi Ribó from Andorra, as well as others from Mexico, Panama, the United Arab Emirates, and Luxembourg.
The Grand Prix of Real Estate is an annual competition that recognizes American real estate projects embodying excellence in the many disciplines involved in their creation. This prestigious award is an affirmation of the FIABCI ideal of providing society with optimal solutions to its
property needs, inclusively making for better places to live, work, and play. In order to be eligible for consideration in 2021, projects needed to have been completed within the past five years and operational for at least 12 months by the end of the year.
Our FIABCI-USA President, Eugenia Foxworth, stated, “Thanks to the ongoing submissions of some of the most impressive projects in the country, FIABCI-USA has succeeded in creating a meaningful industry event that truly recognizes the best of the best. In addition to being very appreciative of their participation, we thoroughly enjoy celebrating and promoting the success of those parties involved in these notable projects.”
Through the Grand Prix of Real Estate, FIABCI-USA seeks out the most impactful and/or influential real estate projects across the country. A panel of expert judges rate the projects on specific criteria, and those achieving exemplary status are recognized with an award, regardless of the number of entries received in a category. This year’s winners are now eligible and invited to advance on to the 2022 FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence, the international round of competition. If they accept this invitation, their projects will compete with counterparts from other FIABCI chapters around the world. Winners of the Prix d’Excellence will be announced at its awards ceremony in June of next year, which is scheduled to take place in Paris, France.
