Located in South Ho‘opili, the SoHo Community Center is one of several planned centers for the Ho‘opili residents. The facility provides a gathering and recreational place for the community, with amenities including a swimming pool, multi-purpose spaces, kitchen, lanais, and open park space. Reflecting on the memories of a once bustling agricultural industry on the ‘Ewa plantation, the design sought to provide a contemporary interpretation of this agrarian aesthetic through its usage of simple industrial materials and exposed structure. The building's scale and orientation on the site is strategic - to allow the facility to be approached in multiple directions, which aligns with Ho‘opili's vision of "coming together".
