Kim has more than 20 years of industry experience and enjoys working with clients interested in creating economically and socially sustainable developments that transform place and people. Her work centers on the idea of “place making” in the belief that design must support the larger goals of urbanism, cultural resonance, human scale, environmental respect, and essential economic viability. She has led projects in the Middle East, London, Russia, Bulgaria, Siberia and the United States, several of which introduced new building types to emerging cities and regions.
Kim earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Southern California, studied in France at the Centre D’Etudes D’Architecture Et Urbanism, and in London at the Architectural Association School of Architecture where she qualified as an architect in professional practice. She is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), England. Kim has taught at the University of Hawaii at Manoa School of Architecture in various capacities.
