Charles Kaneshiro is an architect with a passion for sustainability, educational and inspired endeavors that transform communities.
Through his leadership, Charles has designed many of Hawaii’s “firsts” including:
1) First LEED Platinum School – Halau Ho’olako at Kanu o Ka Aina Learning Ohana
2) First LEED Platinum Laboratory – University of Hawaii C-MORE Hale
3) First LEED Platinum Commercial Interiors – G70 2nd Floor Offices
4) First LEED Certified Preschool in Honolulu – Central Union Preschool
5) First LEED Certified Public School – DOE Pu’u Kukui Elementary in Wailuku, Maui
Charles was nominated as the Hawaii’s first green school advocate in 2007 and served on the steering committee for the development of the Hawaii CHPS (Collaborative for High Performance Schools) green certification program. Under his leadership, G70 was recognized as Pacific Business News’ inaugural winner of the “Best in Sustainability” award in the 2014 Business Leadership Awards.
Since 2014, Charles has served as G70’s president and chief operating officer and is leading the firm during a pivotal time to re-brand the company while expanding its services and global reach. During his tenure, the firm changed its name from Group 70 International to G70, launched a new website and opened a new office in Jakarta, Indonesia.
