Barbara holds a Masters degree in Urban and Regional Planning and a Bachelor of Science in Biology, both from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Her passion lies in ahupua‘a/watershed management, integrating traditional Hawaiian land management methods with scientific evaluations, encompassing the natural, social, and economical aspects of both. Barbara’s background as Executive Director for a local stream restoration group gives her a well-grounded foundation in environmental and community concerns. Experience in both planning and the non-profit sector allow Barbara the comprehension needed for writing effective plans with implementable management measures.
