HONOLULU – Hawai‘i design firm G70 hires Ethan McKown and Michael Donoho as its newest Planners. In this new role, they will oversee the interpretation and compliance of local and federal regulatory requirements for projects on Hawaiʻi Island, help with project schedules, and assist in team and client meetings.
Ethan McKown
McKown is a seasoned professional with experience across the public, private, and non-profit sectors with a demonstrated skill at facilitating action across community and government in Hawaiʻi. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Russian from the University of Montana and a Master of Arts degree in Global Environmental Policy from American University.
Most recently, McKown worked under the Office of Congressman Kaialiʻi Kahele as a District Policy Advisor. In this role he served as district-based policy advisor across six key issue areas to inform strategic priorities. He developed and maintained relationships with community and local government stakeholders relevant to member’s legislative priorities.
Michael Donoho, AICP
Michael Donoho, AICP, is a motivated professional with successful results record through direct execution and leadership. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and Environmental Science and a Masters of Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
Most recently, Donoho served as a Senior Environmental Planner at Tetra Tech. In this role, he worked on environmental planning project teams and conducted site inspections on Maui and Hawai‘i Island. Some of his key projects includes a beach dune restoration design and implementation plan at Kapukaulua (Baldwin) Beach Park for UH Sea Grant and the County of Maui, Sea Level Rise Adaptation Plans for Hawaii County and Maui County Beach Parks and a Regional Shoreline Management scoping study for the Office of Planning and Sustainable Development.
