40 Under 40 2016 event – An outstanding cast of young professionals: Slideshow

Pacific Business News’ 17th annual 40 Under 40 event brought together outstanding young professionals from a wide range of backgrounds and ages.

From leaders in Hawaii’s environmental protection movement to tech-savvy CEOs, from water sports executives to nonprofit innovators and even a big-wave surf photographer, the event held Thursday honored professionals ranging in age from 26 to 39.

PBN Publisher Tammy Mencel and Editor-in-Chief A. Kam Napierhosted the sold-out event and introduced each of the honorees to an audience gathered at the Hawaii Convention Center. On stage, each honoree received a lei from The Orchard Lei Co. and a trophy.

Dr. Warren Evans, campus president of Argosy University, Hawaii, presented each honoree with a scholarship award of $10,000.

The event’s sponsors included Gold Sponsor Argosy University, Hawaii, and Silver Sponsor Hawaii Convention Center. 40 under 40 Auto Sponsor Servco Lexus showcased new cars including a 2016 Lexus with a photograph of the 40 Under 40 Class of 2016 featured on the car’s hood.

Premium table sponsors included Hawaiian Telcom, Kaiser Permanente, New Media Production LLC and DLT.

High school student Tomas Juanita Tigley received the Junior Achievement Hawaii organization’s Star Achiever Award at the event, presented by Delle Tanioka, Junior Achievement Hawaii’s program coordinator.

The honorees, all exceptional leaders in Hawaii’s business community, showed pearls, promise and swag at the 1920s Hollywood-themed event.
